False notification sounds all the time when there are no messages or anything else goin on in the notification panel. This update did not improve this phone at all, only made it worse than before :(

Did you do a factory reset after updating? I know, it SHOULDN'T have to be done, but let's get that discussion out of the way for now. It does help. A LOT.

Try wiping your cashe partition by turning off your phone then turn on by pressing the power, volume up and home button then when in recovery select wipe cashe partition. Then reboot if that doesn't work you will have to do a factory reset, my phone runs better with the update to 5.1.1 then when I first got it. I just did the reset even tho I had no issues just to start fresh.

First I'd call T-Mobile to make sure your phone settings are correct. But again, after an update you should try factory resetting...

Cleared cache after updating, didn't help. I did a factory reset this morning and it seems to be working well so far, no more lag. Will provide updates in the next day or so.

I really hope Android fixes this someday, but sad true is that yes, after an update (especially a major one), a factory reset usually is the way to go. Sadly, this is even true on Android Wear (last two updates have killed my watch until I reset the watch...which isn't as awful as it is resetting a phone, but still...)

I've owned BlackBerry, Windows and Android devices. They all work better with "clean" installs.

Can you imagine if we settle for that? All apps would need a clean install every time the dev wants to update! :P (I know, different software levels, but still...)

Phone is still very snappy after nearly a full day of use, although the battery drain seems very high but I've spent a considerable amount of time trying to get my settings back. I did find a bug which someone at xda mentioned, maybe in another build, when I try to call TMO via 611 or via the 1 (800) 937-8997 number, the dial pad goes black with a circle in the middle and says "Processing your information" then returns to the dial pad without processing the call. Was able to reach them by dialing a different 800 number so just a minor inconvenience at this point.

Hoping the battery usage/life levels out in a few days.

My T-mobile LG3 has been freezing up the last few days...ever since that update notification came in. I called t-MOBILE and they said I should download the update. I didn't download the 1st Lollipop because of the issues with it and I like KitKat. This freezing up is driving me crazy and the only way to unfreeze is to pull the battery. Anyway, If I download the new update I should probably do a factory reset because if I have problems now, they might transfer over to the new lollipop. Using the LG3 backup tool, does that save my wiFi passwords? I have so many and I hate to have go back to each location and get a password again.

Not sure if the LG tool does that, but you can sync settings to your Google account and that does save WiFi settings/passwords.

Probably should have come on here before I went and downloaded it... It's about halfway done.

Since the update to 5.0 my battery has sucked and I've had a couple odd glitches ANYWAY so whatever. I'm going to a cash clear afterwards and then factory reset if I'm unhappy.

All right...it's been five hours and I haven't seen any glitches or any change in my battery life. Still having the same issue that since the 5.0 update the phone lags a lot...10-15 seconds to change between screens sometimes. I did clear the cache partition after the update.

is any one else having issues with the swipe feature while typing? since the update my phone keyboard has been lagging and swiftkey doesnt work. I can swipe one word but when I try and do the next word it types 1 letter of the word and thats it. called carrier and they sent me to samsung who had me do all the same stuff i have already done (cache wipe, battery pull, factory reset) ugh.

YES! Biggest fail in the update. I dowloaded the Swipe app, so I could text. Doing factory restore now to see if that might fix it.

Yep, this is one major problem for me. I plan to do a factory reset to see if it helps. I have no patience for texting one letter at a time. LOL How quickly we become spoiled. ;)
