T-Mobile app won't enable fingerprint login

In the settings for my Note 8's T-Mobile account app, there's a switch to enable fingerprint login. If I try to turn it on, it stays on for a split second and then spontaneously reverts to the off position. And each time, it sends me an email saying "Success! Fingerprint Login Update Complete!".

I've checked and fingerprint login is in fact not enabled for the app--there's no mention of it on the app's login page, and if I touch the fingerprint sensor it's just ignored. I do have fingerprint login enabled for the phone itself, and it works properly. And I have other apps that successfully use fingerprint login.

Have any other T-Mobile users encountered this problem? Anyone know how to fix it? Clearing the app's cache doesn't help.
 
T-mobile here.
Don't feel bad. Mine hasn't worked since I got my note a month ago. You try to slide the finger print icon and it slides right back.
I just gave up.

I do miss the fingerprint log in.
 
Have you tried clearing the cache for the T-Mobile app? Try a uninstall and reinstall?

Did your install the from the playstore or transfer it from a previous device?

Yes, as mentioned above.

Try a uninstall and reinstall?
There's no option to uninstall the app. I did uninstall and reinstall its updates.

Did your install the from the playstore or transfer it from a previous device?
It's a built-in app, with updates from the Play Store. (My previous phone wasn't on T-Mobile.)
 
Just a thought. Try to going into Samsung Pass and under the web sign-in information, go to T-mobile and delete from there and see if it tries to set back up from the beginning when you go back into the T-mobile app.

Thanks but I don't have T-Mobile web sign-in under Samsung Pass. (I use Chrome and it saves my passwords, across platforms, for most websites.)
 
Isn't Samsung Pass required for fingerprint login?
I don't think so. However, I do have Samsung Pass turned on, but the T-Mobile website isn't listed under Samsung Pass. I have other apps (also with no website listed for Samsung Pass) for which fingerprint login does work.
 
I used to use the fingerprint but realized I could simply put my password in and not have to have any verification to get into the T-Mobile app.
