T-Mobile HTC One: KitKat update?

Haven't seen that happen. Tried shutting it down yet? How many apps are running in the background?

Nothing running in the background. Closed apps. Restarted the phone. Rebooted. I even cleared cache from the gallery and camera apps. This is driving me nuts why I can't get that to open up to share a photo or video. I am at wits ends.

I have a T-Mobile HTC One. When I go to Software Update, it tells me that there is no update available. Running Android 4.3. Software Number 3.24.531.3. I called T-Mobile and their Tech Support tells me that I am on the latest version of the software. She had never heard of androidcentral.com, so I'm not sure I was talking to the sharpest tool in the shed. Do you guys have any thoughts as to why I might not be seeing the update? Thanks!

Running the same software on mine and no update available for me either... in NE Texas.

On another note, one of the "changes" mentioned above was the running apps change to have bigger pictures and 9 shown? It has been this way for me since I bought the phone....

Give it some time. They cant update every HTC One right away.

Don't rush to kit Kat. Text messaging is screwed up. People get none or partial texts. Problem.

Well the update already has a big bug in it. Open up your gallery or camera app. Pick a picture to share and boom.... The share icon at the bottom of the picture does not open up the options to share the picture. So basically you can't share any picture in your gallery with anyone or any other app. Talk about a pretty serious bug.

Same problem on mine too.

Did a "clear cache" after I booted into recovery and it did NOT fix the problem.

Also did a factory reset with no luck.

When I hit share, it will flick up the background of the menu but not stay on. About 1 out of 15 rapid taps will make it stay open.

Also, android file transfer will not detect my phone on a MBP.

You have to enable "Animations" in Dev Options. I turned mine off because I did not like them but chatted with HTC support and they said it has to be on for Sense 5.5 to work properly. I set it to 0.5x.

This sounds like an issue with your device. There is nothing wrong with text messaging.

Myself and my roommate got it on Friday and then last night was another update.

My roommate hasn't noticed anything different, works like it did. Myself, on the other hand, have the strange one bar signal strength for cell reception. It seems to only happen to a few and so far, I haven't found a fix. It seems to be some odd cosmetic problem as my speed and quality is fine but it always, on a call, off a call, idle or on WiFi, it never changes from one bar. Annoying right now.

Update: Apparently another update has gone out and my roommate got it (or an update I got was superseded by this new update). When I checked again this morning I had this update waiting. This resolved the strange signal strength problem - everything else looks good.

Not me. I havent needed to root since ICS. And this is one reason. I'd check XDA forums. They always use to help me on rooting/mod issues.

I was able to just update and re-root. HOWEVER, I had to put the original recovery back to do the update and then again for the updates after that (reloading superuser each time) but otherwise it worked and I still have root.

What is ICS? And what are the benefits?
