T-Mobile Note 3: Do NOT download the Android 4.4 KitKat update!

my phone downloaded the 4.4.2 version and I have yet to update it, so don't update it? especially if you use wifi for phone? For pc you always want the latest update for security and you always want the latest version, not for smartphone? I am new to this smartphone thing

my current version is 4.3 I got the phone in Oct last year.

it says tmobile had downloaded 4.4.2, but the kitkat 4.4.2 is from google android right? it's not tmobile software

They are the same update from different distributors. They came from the same source.

so tmobile downloaded it and it's always there, once awhile it will tell me if I want to update or postpone, how do I get rid of that?

so you guys don't update? how about security? will it be less secure without the new update? sounds like it's better not to update but am I missing anything major if I don't update?

This afternoon I wanted to check the weather on my phone, and on the pin input screen it was inputting pin by itself, I was unable to input the pin since it kept inputting the pin by itself. And the battery drained really fast, in the morning it was 100% and by then it was 40%, never really drain that fast before was someone nearby messing with my phone? (phone was connected to wifi via my home router) or the phone does that once awhile and I just need to restart it?

I still don't have the kit kat update and my phone is working as good as the day I bought it. Great battery life, full flash functionality, and most importantly I have full and complete access to my SD card. I have never heard of any wide spread security issues with Jelly Bean I really think its a ploy to have kit kat lock your phone down. If that update message is bothering you I would factory reset the phone after backing up your important data. It is your device and you shouldn't have an OS on it that you don't want. I have yet to hear of any significant improvements of 4.4. over 4.3 so if it isn't broke don't fix it.

Can I downgrade from kitkat back to jellybean...:(

I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I came from AT&T which locked all their bootloader, etc. I know that on thread here someone goes back one kernel and roots the phone and reflashes the latest build. So it might be possible. Look on XDA developers website.

hi guys I updated to 4.4.2 by accident, the update was always there and after so long one day I accidentally clicked update, oh well.

I got the earliest 4.4.2, is there a difference between the earlier version of 4.4.2 and later versions? I think there are 4,5 of them. I was wondering which one drain the battery the least and any big difference other than battery.

screen mode set to adopt display, does that drain battery faster or saves battery? some site say use it some say turn it off lol

how about later versions? 5.0 and even note 7 rom.

I use google map and I found it to drain pretty fast, I turned off all the necessary item to save battery but it still drains fast. I was looking at batteries and there is one that's got like 6500mAH which is double the stock battery, how are those batteries? are they junk or they are really that good? my battery is also 3 years old but I don't use it that often, mainly when I go out I use waze, map, camera, at home it's mostly idling. thanks guys
