Just as title states. Decided to see about getting my T-Mobile OnePlus 6T unlocked. T-Mobile approved no problem. Just popped in my Verizon Sim and instantly it read the service. Everything is working without having to program the apn including picture messages. Really excited since my personal service is Verizon. Now I can truly test this phone and run it through it's paces. So excited Screenshot_20181103-192638.jpegScreenshot_20181103-192702.jpeg

Did you pay off the contract in order for them to unlock it?

Luckily I have a work account with them so I was able to take advantage of the 300 off. Too good to pass up, but glad to finally have a universal phone with T-Mobile and Verizon besides the phones that I purchased from Verizon.
I was going to attempt to do that but I’m not a T-Mo customer.

Can you confirm whether wi-fi calling is enable for your Verizon sim? Thx.

That’s a much bigger deal to me than the phone being LTE-only because currently, when my phone doesn’t have service I’m not dead in the water due to having Wi-Fi calling.

Unfortunately Wi-Fi calling isn't active for my T-Mobile OnePlus with Verizon Sim.

Hmmm, sorry to hear that. I hope we hear differently from users with the unlocked directly from OnePlus devices. Again, here is what The Verge said based on what they heard directly from OnePlus about being certified for Verizon usage:

In an interview, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau told me (through a translator) that getting a phone on Verizon’s network wasn’t possible for OnePlus until Verizon launched its certification program for open-market devices or phones not sold by Verizon. Once that was available, it took OnePlus about a year to get its devices certified for use on Verizon. OnePlus also extended its network compatibility worldwide: the 6T now works on 233 carriers in 74 countries.

The OnePlus 6T has support for Verizon’s primary LTE band as well as features like VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling on the network. According to OnePlus, the Verizon experience should be like any other carrier: pop a Verizon SIM card in, and it should just work. If you don’t already have Verizon service and want to activate a OnePlus 6T on the network, you just have to go to a Verizon store, and it can be done.

Android Central had an article yesterday (11/03) stating that the 6T works on Verizon, or rather that it's "fully compatible with Verizon's LTE coverage". They indicate that if you are on Verizon that you need to purchase the phone directly from OnePlus's website. However, the phone does not appear on the Verizon BYOD whitelist. Maybe later?

So I was watching a YouTube video and it showed the IMEI. I plugged that into Verizon’s compatibility tool and it shows that it works. Additionally, a Verizon rep checked for the device on the Whitelist for me on Thursday morning. Should be all good.

Again though, I’m just concerned about Wi-Fi calling.

I'm glad that I did this. I'm in the place where I normally need WiFi calling and I still have LTE. The only thing that happened was my phone dropped from LTE+ to LTE. Hmmm

I emailed Sam Lee directly about wifi calling on Verizon and this was his response to me...
