T-Mobile Online & Pre-Orders Backordered but Stores have Stock!

We pre-ordered on 9-20-13 and have yet to get our phones, despite a promised 10-1-13 ship date. TMob will put a hold on credit card, then release it a few days later. This has happened twice. Calls to customer service are a waste of time. They don't/won't/can't tell you anything. Even supervisors aren't helpful. Nor do they send out any updates, via email. You either have to call in or check the order status online (which isn't accurate) Order status went from "Order Placed" to "Pending" to "Backordered". Yet all along, the local stores have plenty of stock. Today's new story is that they are out of sim cards. Really? I told them to cancel the order and they refused, saying they can't cancel an order that is in process. How can it be "in process" if it's backordered? I'm told the website orders get their phones from a different source than the stores do. That's interesting. Yet they continue to take "pre-orders" on their website, without a mention of the phones not being available. Don't think pre-ordering is the way to go, especially with T-Mobile.

Anyone else having this kind of problem with T-Mobile?
 
That sounds frustrating as heck, sorry for the hassle.

I just don't think carriers expected the demand they're seeing. I was lucky yesterday to walk into an AT&T and they a black one unopened...and it was their last one! I wanted to get the Galaxy gear too but they said they were only shipped one. Really? Samsung needs to wind up production. I can tell you that build quality is flawless and the phone is worth the wait.
 
After talking with T-Mobile this morning, and asking them to cancel the order (which they refused to do), all of a sudden the status changed from backordered to pending (again). This happened within 3-5 minutes of my phone call. Something strange is going on with them.
 
See that is why I will never ever place an order on line I went into a t mobile store on Tuesday and picked mine up was in and out in about 20 minutes

I totally agree, David. I've learned my lesson with both T-Mobile and with Spigen. No more pre-orders! And as a test, I chatted with a sales agent online with T-Mobile right after I had called, and they told me the phones were IN STOCK and had been shipping since 9-29-13. She changed her tune when I told her my own "pre-order" has never been shipped. Guess it's ok for them to lie to get a sale, that once is inputted, they refuse to cancel!

That's awful! I would recommend buying in store and refusing shipment when item is delivered. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.
