T-Mobile Pre-Order Question and Comment Thread

Hi @tourbound129:

if you were getting the MicroSD via the bundle, then you won't have the card for a few weeks at least.

if you received the S8/S8+ in the next 10 days or so, what are you going to do?

if you boot up and set up the phone without a card, then you'd have to do your set up thing all over again when the card eventually arrives weeks later, sort of like a factory reset - quite a hassle and time consuming!

if you put in a temporary older card (i.e. a slower card that you don't intend to use for a long time) just as a place holder in the meantime, ditto the above scenario: you'll have to essentially perform a factory reset when the new card arrives!

what are you planning to do, may i ask?

i can't figure this out which is why i didn't order the $99 bundle even though it's obviously a good deal price-wise.

thx.

why do you think you have to do a factory reset when putting in a new sd card?

He/she is talking about adoptable storage. This merges the internal storage with external making it appear as one continuous drive.

If it's removed it basically renders the data in the card useless.

And it's essentially worthless to use on a phone with 64gb internal storage. It was designed for phones with very little storage, like 8gb.

Yes there is. And no I don't live in a sketchy area. Every T-Mobile phone that was sent has been marked as signure required.
Weird.. mine from T-Mobile never once had this requirement.

Mines not charged yet - anyone on here?

Nope, not here either. I sometimes question when someone says their card has been charged but doesn't show a screenshot. Also, I think if one person was showing a charge, there would certainly be a bunch more as they typically charge in bunches, not just a select few people.

The thing is, Tmobile has shipped out phones late on a Sunday night before so that's something to keep mind, when I ordered my S7, I had the phone but it still said processing on my account, so I guess just keep an eye out? Lol who knows

my thoughts too...some just want attention.....
But they won't ship until the card has been charged then the shipping label created...sometimes they can happen at the same time.

The order status on MyTmobile is not always correct. I had a phone in my hand once and the order status still said processing.

As much as I would love to see that all happen by the time I wake up tomorrow, I think we are a week away from that happening. But, you never know...

To @jamezr:

exactly! me too!

i received the phone and, on TMobile.com, it still said "processing" or something similar.

very odd.

you'd think that they would fix that at some point. after all, this is 2017 and this type of technology isn't exactly cutting edge.

I don't know I can handle another week of obsessively checking for payments or shipping

That's one thing. But saying UPS doesn't require signatures is wrong. And the drivers should. When I worked at FedEx, you risked getting terminated if you left a package that was marked for signature only delivery.
I've asked T-mobile a few times if they require signatures and every time they say no signature required. If your account is setup for signature required, that's another thing.
