T-Mobile Pre-Order Question and Comment Thread

Anyone get a UPS alert?

I got something, but I dont know if it is my phone or not. shows as UPS SurePost for the "UPS Service" with a scheduled delivery of 4/11/2017. It has 2 different reference numbers, one actually says "T-Mobile"

tracking number shows "label created" and it as being 3 pounds

however I also ordered my S3 Frontier via Costco and they said they would send out a "Free Accessory Bonus Pack"

based on the weight it is probably that

Edit to add - i did JOD with the $130, just checked my account and there have been no charges

@Mike-Mike:

I would seriously doubt that TMobile would ship an $800+ phone via UPS Surepost.

UPS Surepost is the rock bottom, cheapest way to ship items and they are absolutely awful! UPS does the longer distance and, when it arrives locally, the USPS delivers the so-called "last mile" (more than one mile, i'm sure!).

Tracking is awful, service is awful, they are often late by days, simply awful.

I doubt TMobile (or any other cell provider) would risk an $800+ package via such a low-end, awful service ;)

If history (the past several years of pre-ordering via TMobile.com or via their phone 800 number) were to provide an indication of what might happen this year, my TMobile.com's page and details NEVER UPDATED anything vis-a-vis "shipped out" or "tracking number" until well after I received the phone, i.e. something like 3-5 days!

It seems ludicrous that TMobile can't fix their website's lack of update problems, but hey, I'd rather get my phone early than have a super duper website but my phone arrives late! ;)

All I'm cautioning is for us to not put too much emphasis on what TMobile.com says on your profile regarding "order processing" or similar. There's a huge delay!
T-Mo's website has been very flaky since joining them. It's always getting errors, and down for maintenance when I try to log in. My S8+ preorder isn't showing anything but the eip I signed, but nothing about the order. The app shows I have an order being processed. You'd def think a telecommunications company would be able to get their site up to snuff.

Yea, it's bad and their returns process at the warehouse is a joke too! They really skimp on their computer system they use.

thanks, I didn't know what that was, so it is probably the accessory pack from Costco

I pre ordered my phone with my mom using her credit card and she checked yesterday and said it hasn't shown on her credit card yet. She used her credit card, not a bank debit card if that matters.

After all the "I won't ever pre-order again" stuff you spouted back in the Note 7 fiasco .. You went and pre-ordered? :P.

Only sure way to tell is if you get a charge on your account for the order, but still nothing here 😕, I have a feeling they'll ship towards the end of next week for some reason

Depends on who you ordered from. If it's like Tmobile and the Note 7, probably around next Thur they will charge your card if you used tmobile. Not sure how the others will.

Well finally after about a dozen calls and going into T-Mobile store they finally got my JOD order placed for the S8+. This whole fiasco started when I placed the order on the 30th and the rep ordering me the regular S8 when I specified an S8+. If you ever have this happen on JOD where either you or the rep mess up on an order and you want to change it -- Don't call to cancel the order and don't sign the EIP! Just wait 48hrs and the order will cancel out by itself and then call back in and place a new JOD order. When I called in the first time to request the order be changed/cancel the rep instructed me to sign the EIP and then call in to cancel. She said that it could only be cancelled once I signed which was incorrect. So this ended up causing me not to be able to place an order for the S8+. The rep at the T-Mobile store had to submit a service request to have my account fixed and I was finally able to place my order today. I did get a $100 credit out of the ordeal so the upgrade to the S8+ only ended up costing me $30 which works for me.

Sometimes it's worth that extra effort. T-Force rep gave me a $50 credit because he entered the security code for CC wrong and then my CC was blocking other attempts to process. Had to change cards so he gave me the credit for the trouble.

I got a $50 credit too because of a fiasco of a time trying to order the s8plus on tmobile chat .

Anybody know who Samsung uses to ship with? UPS or Fedex? I mean orders from the Samsung website. Not orders from T Mobile.

I ordered the Note 7 with Tmobile and they use UPS but my free stuff from Samsung came via Fedex. Granted the hub is right by my house so I hope it means I get my phone earlier in the day then!

Does anyone know if you buy the phone and get charged the upgrade fee if you return it do you get the upgrade fee back?

Anyone ever pay with PayPal Credit before? I preordered mine direct from Samsung on the 31st, and the money from my credit line hasn't been taken out by Samsung, it just shows authorization. I'm assuming that they won't charge me until the phone ships, correct?

They shouldnt charge until it ships. May be a hold though beforehand
