T-Mobile Pre-Order Question and Comment Thread

Yeah I mean who cares about policies in place to protect the consumer? Just let the companies do whatever they want.

So how exactly is this harming the consumer? You preordered a device, they charged the card and are shipping in a couple of days. End of story. As I said, if you feel T-Mobile is out of line with how they do this, switch companies. No one is being taken advantage of at all. Most have no problem with this. Maybe you should contact your local senator or congressman if this is that big of an issue.

Just got a second text message from tmobile saying package is gettiing ready...my first message was the day before yesterday......still haven't been charged yet.

I preordered on Apr.5. My card did not get charged until today Apr.13. I'm fine as long as they ship out by early next week.

So again, because 'most' people are complacent to just let these things happen, then that makes it right for them to do it?

When I pay for something, I expect that I receive the product or it is in route to me. I don't pay for things and just be ok with the company holding onto it for a week and shipping at their convenience.

How's it going Amy? Lets hope our s8 phones regardless of type is a better experience than last years note 7 fiasco.

Now it says the 18th, I seriously think they're coming a lot sooner than people think

Got a txt yesterday for one line that said shipping 4/19, just got a txt today for my second line saying shipping on 4/18.

So are you canceling your order due to it, contacting T-Mobile, or contacting your bank to have the issue dealt with?

I believe their system is triggered to charge the card when a shipping label is created and normally it would ship right away but with pre-orders they organize them on pallets based on which hubs they are going to so it takes longer to actually be picked up by UPS/FedEx. This is probably the most efficient process to ensure everyone gets their devices on time and there is nothing holding them back from releasing them on the scheduled dates... besides possible restrictions set by Samsung. I realize you are annoyed by it, but the only way I see they could charge your card and immediately ship is if you place an order on or after the official launch day.

I've already contacted my CC company and have in writing from them that if Tmobile does wait until next week to actually ship, they are in violation of the merchant agreement.

If that happens, I will be sending a copy of that to T-Mobile and asking for an explanation and seeking compensation.

If they want to continue to play games, I'll return my V20, when that clears, I'll return the S8+ under the buyers remorse, then be clear of my JoD and order a phone from Samsung.

I think that's going overboard to cancel your order all because they charged your card so soon. Now if your phone never shipped out and release day was tomorrow I'd be livid then.

Personally I'd much rather buy in the store though, but there is only one tmobile store in my county and they always run out of stock fast, and the other ones are all 30 miles away. If I lived in St. Louis still I probably would just buy in the store like I always did because I had three stores within 3 miles of me.

I think what he is saying is unless people start talking with their wallet Tmo will keep doing as they please.

Double post... sorry

this is the thing he GAVE THEM HIS CC INFO to be charged, maybe before he gave it to them he should have asked when do they charge the card or he should have read through their policies about when does the charging of the card take place

TMobile states on their website that they charge when the phone ships so that's what is expected.

yeah he is right. i just saw on TMO website it said it will be shipped once the card is charged. i still dont see a problem with it but your argument isn't wrong i apologize for challenging it without looking at tmo website first

I imagine they will give you an explanation but highly doubt there will be any compensation. I have done several pre-orders with various companies over the years and this is very common, especially with highly anticipated devices with a large number of pre-orders. Honestly, what is the big deal that it gets shipped 5 days after it gets charged? Now if you didn't get it by the official launch day then I could understand being bothered by it but even then I wouldn't understand expecting some sort of compensation.

I understand what he wrote and I don't disagree... Money talks. But the vast majority of people just let companies do whatever they want, right or wrong. Someone has to challenge their actions. And I'm not scared to challenge them. What's the worst that can happen by challenging? They so no. Ok. I tried. Now what? Find another company.

My last challenge ended up fairly well. I was lied to about promotional pricing by a rep and that offer was verified by other reps. They apologized for the misinformation but I didn't stop there. I kept pushing. When the back and forth was over I was offered a 1 time credit that was enough to cover my entire phone bill (6 lines plus 5 device payments) for a little over 2 months. If I didn't fight for what was right I would have nothing.
