T-Mobile Pre-Order Question and Comment Thread

OK, just got a response from T-Mobile via Twitter DM. They tell me that I should get my IMEI either when the device ships, or at the latest by the time it's delivered (which is kind of pointless because you can get your IMEI from phone's Settings menu).

They also assured me that failure to receive an IMEI is not an indication that there is any delay in delivery. At least not in my case.

When did you order?

I ordered Friday night/Saturday morning...on Sunday got my lease agreement and signed it.
Then today I got the lease agreement document.

I ordered on March 30 at about 6:30 AM, and got my lease agreement (and signed it) the same day. I also got the documents on March 30. A little weird that I got your signed agreement back so much later. But if they created a shipping label for you, I guess it doesn't matter so much.

Hoping we both get our phones before launch!

I thought I could skip ahead and register for the promo items since I knew my devices IMEI number from my Tmo account page. But....you also need the WiFi MAC Address. So much for that idea. LOL

I have an origin scan and I am in southwest Florida. UPS just updated while I was typing and now my phone is in Miami.

@arunma:

well, it would be more useful, imho, for them to have commented on whether or not your phone is moving right along or is still showing no signs of movement, as so many of us are sitting here refreshing our UPS page, to no avail, as for many of us, it still says: "Order Processed: Ready for UPS"

Same here. Found my imei in my T-Mobile app. Then it asked for the wifi MAC address. Bummer.

I've seen a couple fellow Michigan folk on Reddit with origin scans, departures to Michigan, etc. Unfortunately, I haven't been so lucky. Been stuck on "Ready for UPS" since 4/13 5:39PM. Preordered in-store on 4/1.

Last flight to Michigan from a UPS plane lands in Detroit around 5:38AM. Still hope I get it tomorrow.

I think the issue of the first preorders not getting scans yet is like the supermarket checkout line. First items to get checked out are the last ones placed in the cart. First in last out.

I was thinking the exact thing. Man people who pre-ordered a week after I did have there order in transit while mine is just sitting.

I agree completely! I read @steelernole's comment and refreshed my UPS page just a moment ago. FWIW I asked the T-Mobile rep directly if he knew the exact location of my phone. Alas, they did not, but they did tell me "You should expect it to shipped by tomorrow. At the absolute latest it will be shipped on the 20th."

Sort of disheartening to know it's possible I could potentially get it on the afternoon of launch date. But I guess that's the worst of all possible (well, likely) scenarios.

True, I suppose that's possible. Still, I think preordering early was the right decision since it protected us against any supply issues which may have caused us to get our phones well after the launch date. I'd rather get my phone on April 21 than on May 21! The supply turned out to match the demand, but you know what they say about hindsight being 20/20.

A tmobile rep called me today stating that the authorization period on my amex card no longer existed and they either needed me to re-give the info, I opted to give him a different cc card info and he told me that I should be receiving tracking info by tomorrow. He said that if I do get the info tomorrow it'll mean that I should have my phone by Thursday.....I'll believe it when I see it.

I called T-mobile today to pre-order S8 in Orchid Gray. Used JOD line so I had to call or go into store to pre-order. For whatever reason, you can't order phones online with a JOD line.

I also wish you could return phones in store if you ordered online or on the phone. Hassle packing it up and shipping it out.

It's looking increasingly unlikely that a scan will happen tonight :(

It's already 9:45pm.

Gosh, after waiting with merely the tracking number since April 13th, and pre-ordering during the very first 15 minutes, this is indeed disappointing.

It shows nothing for Atlanta. How do i see flights for after midnight?
I'm in Atlanta too. I've checked and though I can't attach the screen shot for some strange reason in the app, it does say we have a flight leaving Louisville at 3:01am and arriving at 4:02, and another from 4:00am and arriving at 5:07am.

I feel your pain. I've had the Ready for UPS since 4/13 5:40pm.

I'm in the same boat ordered April 1st
And will probably be one of the last to get it

don't think so. I ordered in the first 10 minutes of preorders.
