I am scheduled to have my S9 delivered tomorrow from T Mobile ( if the weather in NJ holds up).

My question is, I am upgrading from an S7, and do I use the sim card from my S7 or if there is a sim card shipped with the phone use that one?

If I use the new sim does Tmobile automatically switch my number to that?

Thanks for you help.

Your phone will probably come with a new SIM, but you do not need to switch to this. IIRC, the S7 takes the same nano sim as the S9, so you should just be able to swap it.

...That being said...newer SIM's are updated and verified to work with most compatibility. (esp since yours is kinda old). IMO, I would update.

I tried the new sim card and it wasn't activated so I had to use the one from my note 8. Probably best just to swap sims from your old phone.

I called Tmobile and they said use the sim from my S7, and just put the new sim in a safe place, I can always call and activate down the road if there is any kind of a problem. I was anxious to get things going so I did that.
