Has anyone been able to use T-Mobile wi-fi calling on a Pixel 2 (XL in my case).

I've been able to set the wif-fi calling setting to wi-fi preferred via settings/network & internet/wi-fi/wi-fi preferences/advanced/wi-fi calling (it's switched on).

I can also get to the setting via phone app/settings/calls/wi-fi calling/calling preference/wi-fi preferred (and the switch is on).

I have never seen any indication (while on a call) that it's using wi-fi calling. Interestingly if I pull down the notification screen it says T-Mobile wi-fi calling. I called T-Mobile tech support and they said only T-Mobile branded phone are known to support wi-fi calling. I left AT&T because that's what they said. I thought (mistakenly) that it was different at T-Mobile. Has anyone used it successfully and is there any trick to getting wi-fi calling to work?

My 1+ does WiFi calling on T-Mobile all the time. The tech support person is an *****. I hope my 2XL will do the same, 1 month of waiting down, 1 more to go (9th Oct with delivery on 7 Dec, 128 panda).

I have been using WiFi calling for years on T-MOBILE, but if I remember correctly, they have to enable that feature for you. I will check my account and update this...

Update: when calling T-MOBILE let them know you want to enable WiFi calling. It doesn’t matter what phone you are using. Then double check that it shows up in your plan, which you can check online.

Wifi calling definitely works on non-T-Mobile phones. We've got four unlocked phones that use it, including my 2XL. T-Mobile service is spotty at best at our house, and we wouldn't have switched to T-Mobile without wifi calling.

It is working. If you see that in the notification tray then you're all set.

We switched our phones to T-Mobile in-store, and I brought up wifi-calling. The guy just verbally confirmed it. I'm not sure if that meant it's enable by default or if they had to turn it on for us. Probably not a bad idea to call them just to make sure.

I can confirm as a T-Mobile customer you just need to enable it on your phone. No need to contact them.

There are two options, cellular preferred or WiFi preferred. The one issue with cellular preferred is it will prefer using cellular even when the signal is really weak. WiFi preferred basically forces it to use WiFi.

I called yesterday and everyone is correct (prior to seeing the responses) that you just have to enable it. However tonight I will check to see if my pull day tray shows as the above picture does. Reason my wifi calling was so poor was due to internet. I disconnected from my phone and reconnected it and the speedtests were what they should have been.
