Tab A (2017) Capacitive button lighting?

Just wondering, just gave this tablet, Tab A 2017 non-4G model (SM-T380) as a gift to a family member, and noticed that the backlight on the capacitive touch keys don't light up, is that normal? Tried different settings and can't get them to work.

Perhaps they don't light up?

Looking for others input please!

I would put a dot of white paint or a bit of white tape or a label/sticker next to the spot.

Just bought one. Same problem. Installed Soft Keys2 from Hoogle Play store ( the rare other mods). Problem solved.

I suppose you could could use a different home Launcher application, and request the developer to add Home, back and Recent soft-buttons...
