tab a 8.0 2019 got android 11

yeah, cause last thing I wanna do is end up benching this tablet.

..even with how much more time I spend on my 2019 fire tablet..the samsung remains my favored 'road trip' device.

I hear you , hopefully wont be the case .

ok...SO FAR it seems to have addressed the performance and instability issues.

the only thing it still does is it proceeds to do a 360 rotation of the screen when I long press on icons on the home screen but this I can live with...just lock it in landscape mode.

but now I've a new problem. lux lite, which I used as I couldn't stand how android seems to do adaptive brightness..isn't working right.

does anyone have a suggestion for a suitable alternative?

Try Uninstall then install again, i dont use 3rd party apps like that

I already did that...got the permissions page in my face like the first time post factory reset.

I'm just aggravated with the adaptive brightness dimming the display fully when its restarted or left to its own devices for any length of time.

my fire tablet doesn't do that.(and its the weaker of the two...yet makes the samsung look like its standing still ^^; )

also figured out if I have the tablet in portrait mode and long press an icon then, its cooperative, no 360 spin, so I'm guessing they changed something under the hood?

it also appears to have stopped with the 'long press 360' antics as well. I didn't change any settings or how I use the device.
