Tab S 10.5 Frozen

I am having the same issue where the tablet freezes when you are in the middle of playing a game, online or reading from Kindle. Restarted in safe mode and waited 2 hours per instructions from Samsung. Still froze. In fact just froze whole I was typing this. When this happens the soft keys don't work but the center button returns to the home screen. I have to put it in and out of sleep mode to get it back and then it does it repeatedly. Rebooting using the power and volume down do not correct the issue...Samsung was less than helpful. Anybody try anything else?

How old is it? If really a problem, it should be covered by warranty. Although if sporadic it might be hard for them to see when returned for warranty work.

It is not rooted? Kind of generic standard apps?

It was purchased in March 2015. I already tried a restart in safe mode and it still freezes. I have also tried a factory reset and still freezing. I'm thinking it's software related since it seemed to start after the lollipop install.

Since it should still be covered by warranty, contact Samsung or your dealer for repairs or replacement. Good luck

After about eight hours the battery didn't die. Got frustrated... continued looking at multiple forums. Found that someone managed a reboot on a Tab2 with combination of volume and power hold for 10 seconds.

Well it worked... Volume down, then power button hold for 10+ seconds and the unit rebooted.

BTW: still got 19% battery power after the screen has been on for 9 hours with an original charge of 91%.

Thank you so much for this info. I've been driving myself crazy trying to figure out why mine wouldn't turn on. Worried the house had gotten struck by lightning last night and my surge protectors didn't work lol. Total life saver!

If your tablet is freezing, check to see how many apps you have open and which combination of apps might be causing this.

I'm having similar problems with my galaxy tablet. I was cleaning out some old files and I ran into an app in my download folder . I was curious to what it was, so like a dummy I enabled it to where I can open outside apps on the tablet. After I downloaded and opened it, my tablet froze with an image that says Android system updating now please try again later. I tried restarting the tablet several times and it always goes back to that same screen. It won't let me do anything else beyond that. I can pull down the drop menu but that's about it. None of the buttons work. I got a lot of information on this tablet I would like to keep. I don't want to do a factory reset. Can anyone help me?

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. Froze while streaming a video.

Screen frozen, none of the buttons function. Screen does not go off.

Any solutions? Don't want to do a factory hard reset as I don't want to loose data?

What if I wait until the battery dies?

Rebooting Problem

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and my Screen suddenly froze this Morning while unlocking my tablet. I pressed the power and volume down buttons and it rebooted. But then it stayed for hours on the screen where is written SAMSUNG in The middle and blue particles fly of The word. The particles still appeared and moved normally but The screen didn't change! I rebooted The tablet several times but every time the same thing happened again.

Can you please help me fix it?

Try popping out the SD Card, then push it back in as soon as it re-starts. You may need to re-start it again after it FULLY boots.

1. Push IN SD Card, Release it... it should pop UP.
2. Device should already be re-booting.
3. Push SD Card back IN until it locks Down.
4. After device fully boots you "may" need to re-start it again for the system to recognize the SD Card properly.

Good Luck
