Tag Heuer releases their new smartwatch.

Picked it up today!

The TI makes it really light. Strap is rubber (as shown in the pics). They said they'll have a leather strap in a cognac color ready in a few months. The Tag Boutique I got it at had 2 of each "color" (straps), but said that they knew the black was going to be far-and-away the most popular that they were offering a free black strap with the purchase of any other color. So I got white and had them put the black strap on. :)

Haven't played with it too much yet, and it's a rainy day in the northeast, so I can't comment on the screen's visibility in the sun.

Happy to answer any questions I can. I'm a long-time Android user, and have had a Pebble (steel), but this is my first Android Wear (so I'll be surfing for tips and tricks in the meantime).

Congrats! Got mine tonight too! Got mine at the NYC store. They told me the same thing about the leather strap. They didn't give the option of getting two straps though. Did they mention how much they go for?

They also noted they already got a few shipments in as they sold out at one point in the past day. While they were writing me up, about 7-8 people walked in to look at the new watch.

This is my second Tag, I dropped off my other one tonight for maintenance and cleaning and walked out with the Connected. Compared with the other Tag, this one is significantly lighter.

It's also my second Android Wear, my first being the original 360. Just in the past hour, I've found the Tag to be quicker to respond and the swipes seem to be much more accurate in that the 360 usually didn't register swipes unless I did it perfectly.

I'm really hoping the battery does make it through the entire day, with the 360, if I left the screen on ambient, it was dead before I left work at the end of the day.

Yeah, I have two "traditional" Tag watches as well.

I think they said the alternate-color rubber straps are about $145 (which is a bit nuts for a couple pieces of rubber). The rep said they are guestimating the leather straps will therefore be in the $300+ range.

Best of luck!

I seen a lot of complaints about the $1500 price tag but I think it looks amazing!

FWIW: I had what I would call a relatively "typical" day yesterday in terms of the number of alerts from emails, calendar/appointments, and txt's. I took the watch off the charger at 6:30AM and when I went to bed at 11:30PM (which is not typical for me, I'm usually in bed at least an hour earlier! :) ), I still had 20% battery left on the watch. So I'm pretty satisfied that I will get through the vast majority of my days without worrying about battery. Charging nightly was what I expected anyway.

Note: this is with the watch in the default mode of "always on" (where the screen dims and you can still read the time until you wake it up).

Did a battery run down and got to 28 hours total. That's from 8am to noon the next day. Around 10% it went into battery saver mode and turned off the always on display. So theoretically, I can go to work, go out at night and crash at a friend's place and still make it home without an embarrassing dead screen.

Picked one up at the 5th Avenue Tag boutique last Thursday on a business trip. There was a lot of interest. Had absolutely no intention to buy, but once on my wrist, I was sold. Feels and looks great. Incredibly light for the size.

This watch is perfect for me for two reasons:

1) I've been keen to get an Android Wear watch. The Connected, because of the Tag DNA, looks like a traditional Carrera. No one so far even realizes that it isn't a "normal" watch unless they look closely. I like that.

2) I was looking at purchasing a new mechanical Carrera already. This deal seems made to order; I have a great looking Android Wear watch for two years, then $1500 gets me into a special edition Carrera.

So far the battery usage gets me through a long day with about 30% remaining using "always ON" (which I like a lot).

I have mine for 6 days, using with iPhone , little limited on apps but watch is great.
Feels and looks like a mechanical watch, so light.
On problem I have is bluetooth audio issue.
When Tag is connected to my iPhone an I answer via any bluetooth headset or in my car audio is broken i can no use it.
It works whenIi disconnect the watch.
Anyone has similar experience?

I have mine connected to my GS6 Edge and I made a few calls via my BT connection in my car with no noticeable problems.

Would love to see some pics of them out in real life. Very intrigued by this watch, but have yet to see one in real life and there isn't a boutique near me. Love Android Wear and have had several watches so far, but I would really like to have a more "premium" experience. Glad to hear that overall people are happy with them. What is the screen like? It's not the highest resolution out there, but seems to definitely be better than the original Moto.

Hah, I did the same thing. I left my mechanical Tag with the store for them to send off for a new battery and to repair a link. The Dallas boutique also keeps selling out of every shipment that they get. It's a great looking watch and feels great on my wrist.

How are you liking the watch now that you are going on a month of ownership? I got mine yesterday and love it, but disappointed about the lack of ability to install apps when using iPhone. Have you considered buying an Android device just get apps to install on your watch? My business is fully ingrained in the Apple ecosystem, so I am thinking about buying a cheap tablet just to install apps.

I've had mine 3 days now. Just can't leave it alone. Love it. But some watch faces won't load. Please see if you can load the "Watch face collection" by vuxia, and the Magic Face T3-Tourbillion", and please let me know.

I'm really interested in this watch, but it seems no one can answer a somewhat simple question. I race cars, and GoPro has a new app that will allow you to start/stop your Gopro 4 camera from a watch (apple/ not sure on android). Can anyone tell me if the app will work with this watch? I'm not Android literate, as I have Apple crap. I would love to be able to get the app on the Tag, then just hit my watch to start recording GoPro video. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Ex-car racer and moto track guy here. I bought the watch in part for the Race-Chrono app that would be useful when I am in track on my bike, but found out that installing any apps onto the watch is not supported. Here is the document that Tag sent me. I really think that they should have this published somewhere. I did decide to keep the watch because I like it, and I hope that support for apps will eventually make it to the Apple platform.

hth, Andy

Don't expect to get an answer, I made a question about software updates 2 weeks ago, there are more than 200 views and nobody bothered to answer. Unbelievable...
