Question I am seeing updates of the Taiwanese models not containing the Sony G Lens -- what does this pertain to and how would that change the phone? I even see some of Genuine-only listing now including the statement

The G lens is the camera lens they use. The phone I bought from Genuine, the listing did not say that. Weird!! I don't know how that wouldn't be in there or why they would use a different lens for that model.
I'm interested to know if the phone Jiggy got from them has it or not.

It has a capital "G" next to the lens.....
It take really good pictures. Considerably better than the ZS1 I was using.

If I was more motivated and had more time I'd do a review. I watched every review that exists 5 times each before I got the phone and, in retrospect, they're all so generic. I think they see too many phones every day and they probably all blend together. Nobody's fault I guess but having used the phone for two days so many things seem obvious. The blog site reviews I read and saw didn't do it any justice, they just copycat each other.

For example all the buttons feel better, the phone feels way lighter in the hand, better balanced too.The rounded corners make it easier to hold. The glass feels thinner for better or worse. The camera seems better in every way imaginable. Opens faster, focuses faster, takes better pictures, better color.

Headphones sound really good.

After 15 minutes I can tell you there is no way this level of craftsmanship is a fake! This thing is sick looking...One thing I don't think the reviews stress enough is how much lighter and/or better balanced the Z2 is over the Z1S.....Screen=sick.....Feel=awesome....bonus dock=bonus....

eats7 and gap77 made the right move....waiting is for the birds.

Safe to say I'll have the phone in my hands for the rest of the night....I'll load up androidcentral app in case you have any other questions.

Man this is going to be a difficult decision. The M8 will be nearly $200 cheaper for me. Gonna to see how this weekend of work goes, then make an educated decision. Lol

All unlocked phones come without any APN settings..I input those if that's what you mean.

Go to settings, more, mobile networks, access point names.

Create a new one.

Following are the settings I used.
Once done make sure you hit save.

Go back to mobile networks and change network mode to lte.

Once done give the phone a few minutes to do its thing...make sure you turn off WiFi sovyou can verify the 4G or H+ symbol over the network bars. Let me know.

Well there's 2 things. Basically run a speedtest with both and compare....the US marketing calls Hspa+ 4G while most of world gives it its own symbol. (You have purchased a non carrier unlocked phone so it won't say LTE unless it's true Lte) So for me for example, I hear people say all the time "well my phone gets 4G....there's no true 4G where I am....providers call anything faster than 3g, 4g..

Secondly, the APN settings I gave you are one of many you can find by googling... "APN settings for ATT LTE" for example. Try different settings and run speedtests until your speed matches your iPad.

With a phone that is available for sale on a network, the carrier will ship it with optimal APN settings preloaded. People with the phone will post it online and voila....this phone isn't available for sale on ATT so we have to experiment.. Most 4g phones use the same and for people on t-mobile I bet the z1s settings will work.

I found somewhere they had it in this order APN type: default,mms,supl,hipri,fota
and I got 5.65 which I think is good for my area
