I used AlphaRevX to set my phone to S-OFF and rooted it. But now my power button is messing up and I need to take it in for repair/replacement? I can take off the root without any problems, but if unlocking the HBoot voids warranty, is there anyway to set it back to normal where the phone doesn't have AlphaRevX on it with ClockworkMod and is S-ON?

If the power button is disfunctional can they tell its rooted? If you search the forms you'll find your answer to putting s-off back to s-on.
In most casses I have heard people say verizon doesn't even check. You just show them the problem and they replace it. And if the cs rep doesn't really know the phone, then he/she will prolly not even try to check.

Agree. The average Verizon employee probably doesn't even know how to check that, and even if they did they probably wouldn't bother anyways. If u can't figure it out I wouldn't stress too much, unless u get the rare tech nerd do good employee. Chances are u would be fine. My friend had a similar situation and he had no problem getting a replacement. Just show them the defect and u will prob be good to go. Def try to get s on tho, it can't hurt. But I'm sure u will find someone to give u a replacement. I would bet if they check at all they only check that if its a software problem that could be related to a blown root attempt. I don't personally know, just basing it off my friends experience and what I think is common sense. Theoretically tho u could get a doucher helping u. Good luck.

No I have ROMs that are root free and I know how to unroot my phone. But I haven't had any luck trying to remove AlphaRev or ClockworkMod off my phone. I'm not sure how to do that so I guess I'll wait until I learn how to take it in just so it looks 100% original and there's no chance of denying warranty.
