I'm not eligible for an upgrade until Aug, and my city isn't scheduled for LTE until after 2012. Until now I've been pretty focused on getting the DInc2, but the dual-core on the Droid X2 is appealing. (i.e. I could see it getting Ice Cream Sandwich while a single core might not.) I'm a happy HTC Eris owner and have never been particularly fond of MOT phones. So, is dual-core reason enough to make the switch?

It seems to me that the market is getting so saturated with Android devices that it's confusing the hell out of almost everyone. I really like my DInc2, and aside from a few bugs (GPS N/S flip, low signal readings, sporadic reboots without reason, low speaker volume) I am happy with it. It's very thin, light, clear and crisp screen, the front camera is great for using Tango with any other phone (iphone/android) with a front facing camera, and it has plenty of memory for those intense multi-tasking times.

Best advice I can give you is to get to a friend that has it, or a Verizon store, and try the phones out for yourself. Dont go my route and just buy 'em almost sight unseen..... that's getting awfully expensive.

I haven't had very many issues with this phone. It seems to work flawlessly for me and is maybe the perfect size for my hands. Everyone has different needs, so if you have an opportunity to play with one at the store go try it out and see what you think. It's not dual core or 4g, but is plenty fast and has a good battery life.

I've had the Droid X. I have the Inc2..... Sense is much better than Blur....
I'm sticking with the Inc2. The X will be there as a backup.

That's a tough one. I think you'll be happy with either phone. The possibility of Ice Cream is nice. But I wonder if they would even bother. It's supposed to be out Q4. Then there's always a lag. It could be a year or more from time of purchase before it gets it, if it gets it. You might reach your 20 months and be ready to upgrade and either still not have it or have only had it for a handful of months. And meanwhile you're using a Motorola phone, which you said you've never liked. FWIW, people seem to love their Droix Xs and the X2 is a bump up from that. Personally I don't like the physical buttons or the boxy look, but that's down to personal preference.

I will say that my Dinc2 has developed lag. It was perfectly fluid when I first got it, but once I restored it with all the stuff that had been on my Thunderbolt, it developed choppy scrolling and a bit of delay. Not bad enough to return, just a little disappointing. Could just be my unit, though I read about a couple other people here with the same issue. Would dual core prevent this or is this some other problem? Dunno.

I'd imagine its some bad app or apps. Granted I'm a noon and haven't gotten many apps yet but my dinc2 is flawless. Just can't figure how or why I can't put bookmarks in folders in my browser. Also when I think I delete an app it still shows in my downloaded apps window. It's a tough learning curve coming from a BB. Haha

That's a bummer, is it isolated to specific apps? Mine is continuing to run flawlessly without any real issues.

Here its simple. Droid x2 no front facing cam, laggy moto blur. By august there should be more duel cores out. The samsung galaxy s 2 duel core with 1 gig of ram. The inc 2 is a nice phone does have a sync problem with email. Low speakerphone volume. Other than that more ram then the x2 and sense is better than blur.

No, it's at the OS level. For example scrolling through a long list of apps like in the delete apps screen - choppy and snags. Delays when hitting, say, the home button to get out of an app. General delays in commands. Probably I should do a factory reset just for the hell of it but it's annoying to set it all back up. And I don't always notice it.

I absolutely refuse to use motoblur. I had the droid 2 for about a week and hated the software. If would freeze, crash, etc daily. It was very slow just about doing anything.

I may be in the minority, but I love sense. I actually prefer it over stock android. it brings a professional look to the phone in addition to various other tweeks. I will wait for updates without pulling my hair out. I know htc will support the device. Motorola on the other hand just dumps phones and leaves them to die.

From what I've read, the DX2 is plagued with bugginess.

I would rather get a refined single core, rather than what seems to be a rushed dual core.

That way, you'll be happy with your purchase and by the time you're up for another upgrade, maybe dual cores will have ironed out their issues.

Just depends if having the newest thing (in this case dual core) means a lot to you.

Personally, from what I've heard, I'd rather take the RAM over the dual core at this point.

The dx2 is a nice phone but I absolutely hate blur especially after using sense the modifications are well thought out and implemented were as blur seems to be a mash up of what's popular in the Android community. The dx2 may be a better buy in the long run with ics coming but I would rather have this just give me root so I can mod some of the things that anger me
