We popped the battery out and it's okay now, I know there is another thread on this but I don't see any resolution on whether a factory reset is the fix or he needs a software update or what.
 
It could of just been a crash. If it happens all the time though it could definitely be some defective hardware.

Hope it's not hardware, his 14 days expired for exchange. He does have insurance though.....Crossing fingers

14 days for an in store exchange. The provider of his cell service will send a replacement within the 1 year warranty.
