My GN insists on reading my Gmail to me. How do I stop this?

Check Settings>Accessibility and see if you have something turned on there... also check to disable the "driving mode" under the settings/voice input and output/text-to-speech settings.

Didn't find anything suspicious under Accessibility. Never did find Driving Mode Anywhere.

TalkBack, Kickback, and SoundBack are apps for the Android Accessibility Service to help blind and vision-impaired users use their devices more easily.

See if you have any of them installed and operating.

Web scripts also makes the device talk. It's under accessibility.
