Well so far so good since Saturday with my new beast, every day learning new tricks about the Note and or Samsung

I come from a long history with LG and until now the only thing im missing so far is the function that allow me to awake the phone (no unlock it) by Tapping the screen ... The Note have the Time date and notifications icons in the locked screen but in the dark go off and you dont see nothing, by tapping the lg you can see again that info in the lock screen THATS WHAT IM MISSING so far.

Any setting or go around tips or whatever about this?

That feature from LG is one of the ones that are really hard to get over. I was tapping the screen on my phone (even work iPhone) and I only had the V20 for a couple weeks.

Unfortunately, the Note 8 supports no such feature (you can double tap to turn the screen off, with a few lockscreen-related caveats, with certain launchers, but that's about it). You can, however, double tap the home button on your screen to and that will 'wake' the screen up.

Also, if your AOD is turning itself off in dark places, check your settings for the one that avoid your screen to be turned on in, well, dark places. Maybe that one is causing the AOD to shut off.

I swap between my Note 8 and my V20 as my daily driver. I can't count how many times I've tapped the screen on my Note by force of habit.

It's one of my favourite features from Windows phones and LG's. My work phone is an LG so I still try and double tap to wake my Note 8 at times too. I read somewhere that DTTW was going to be a standard feature of 8.1 but I'll believe that when I see it. Would love it to become available on all phones

As said above though you can still double tap the home button to wake the screen then swipe anywhere to open.

Settings, Display, Navigation Bar, Unlock With Home Button.

Just above you can adjust the pressure of the home button.

If you set up a Trusted Device or place and it is connected, then one press of the home button unlocks your phone, otherwise it will take you to the lock screen. I have the sensitivity set to the lowest and I'm so used to where to touch now that it's secondary nature, just like the fingerprint scanner.

Yeah, this I know. It's just not the same. On the LG you can tap anywhere on the screen and you can double tap to close it down too (another habit I find myself doing with the Note). LG I wish I knew how to quit you!
