Wow. Nice info. You're good at this.

So you can upload shots on those versions but can't add forums.

This Tapatalk is technically impressive, but not thought through for the end user.

I'm sure they took a lot of flak early on, and they changed a few things mostly for the sake of it, but it will have eased and we're stuck with this format.

For the AC forums it's still better than the Android Central app or the mobile website, but I am happiest when viewing the full site on a pc monitor at home.

Just today I had a problem with an old car so I joined a French car forum (only my 2nd). I couldn't choose a Username for it. It was given my Tapatalk account name which I dislike. Waiting for that site mods approval.

I also registered on the other Mobile Nations sites recently so I have to remove some or scroll down to Android Central every time I open.

Ah well, life gets tough when you get older and uglier.

Which version did you say you're using, Madd? I'm using version 2 and I can't access any new forums anymore. It still works with the old ones I'm logged into. A different forum site which is doing a software upgrade was offline and I deleted it, stupidly thinking I'd add it back so I could login anew after the upgrade. No such luck. I did add it in Forum Fiend but that's not an optimal solution. I might be forced into the latest craptastic version after all just so all my forums are back under one roof and I can upload images again but I'm not ready to take the plunge yet. I hate using software that slows me down and complicates the purpose it's supposed to fulfill.

They will do this again. Just when everyone is finally used to how the latest version works they'll mess with it again. They've done it over and over and over.

Navigating a lot of it was very difficult, or just annoying, and it makes errors but it will do.
I think you are right, they will change it completely at some stage.
It's like Google's Lollipop, when they go in to work they have to be seen to 'improve' something.
When I first started using Tapatalk around January 2014, people were saying the old version was better then.

Navigating a lot of it was very difficult, or just annoying, and it makes errors but it will do.
I think you are right, they will change it completely at some stage.

That's good, thanks. Your screenshot looks way better than it looked before. Maybe it won't be as horrible an experience as it was after that January (or whenever) update.

Yes it changed a bit. The font is weird but I got to like it. Give it a try.
I use the subscribed column, with the stars, and with 3 go to forums when I open it.

You can use it and still detest them.

Well I gave it a try and it was so disorienting! The massive pictures and it opens on a browsing list of forums - it took me a couple minutes just to find the forums in my subscriptions from months ago. I don't like it. I've been using the old version which is uncluttered and simple. :/

I just remember the first new version had a picture on half the screen, which made it useless. When I open it now I get the first screen above.
Maybe it adapts as it learns, I don't know. It's still not easy, but I can mostly do what I need now. What I couldn't and still maybe can't do - I honestly don't remember what those were.

I don't want to touch my phone atm as it got a bit wet today in a quick toilet dunk, but was probably saved by a flip case. (I started a panic thread in AAQ. )

I'm sure it's OK, I dunked it in a filling bath in the past and was fine, but I got a weird factory mode screen today telling me not to turn it off! Otherwise, ask me questions tomorrow if you want to give it a longer try.

Looked like Tapatalk was starting to get its act together but I keep getting pushes from XDA that are days old & I'm set up for immediate push of new content.
