while in Gmail results in a double (system) bubble sound / tone and nothing happens. I expected a list of options. The double bubble sound is new. Also, the entire tablet is respondins to movement /pressure on my stomach. I upgraded to Lollipop a week or two ago. Wiped system cache but have not done a factory reset.

Factory reset might be the only way to clear out the bugs. Most of the time that fixes any issue.

Thanks for answering such a strange and vague question <lol> I knew it was not going to generate a lot of replies. Probably a lot of "what's she smokin'?" And I kinda figured a FR was my only option. Probably needs it anyway. The tab is just over 2 years old and I've never done a FR.
Thanks for your reply.

+1 for the factory reset. I always seem to find niggles after an os update on either this tablet or my phones, so now I alway backup my data, perform the update and then factory reset. This also helps to get rid of some of the crap my devices have collected from all the apps I've tried and uninstalled.

(Sigh), I know I've got to do it. I'll add that to the list of things I don't want to do but have to

I feel your pain ;)

I did NOT want to do it either, but my tablet was running really strange, and getting very laggy and just not like it used to be. I tried wiping cache and that made a big mess, who knows why. But if you followed my thread, eventually I DID have to go for the FR and, it made a HUGE difference. My trusty tablet is fresh and shiny and running great, Dont fear the reset ;)

Just know that not all your apps will redownload, I dont know why that is, but most do.

If I had it to do over, Id take screen shots of all my home screens, and my entire app drawer and save them on an extSD card, so I could remember all I had. But Im doing pretty well getting it back to where I wanted it.

Some of the apps I do NOT like the upgrades, so Im using an app sender to send the older versions from my phone to the tablet.

Hang in there.. just get the ducks in a row, and backed up and go for it

Good Luck... hope you are doing well... :)

Hi Diane! Thanks for the pep-talk :) I haven't done the FR yet. I forgot to remember <g> It's not even on my list of "things I REALLY don't want to do but hey, that's life so suck it up". My tablet actually runs great. This one hiccup is my only issue. If I used my tablet a lot (like you probably do), I'd be more anxious to do the FR. I DO take screen shots when I do FRs on my phone and when I upgrade my computers. It's a life saver isn't it :)

When you say all my apps will be redownloaded, do you mean that they will do this without me indicating which ones I want? I certainly don't want all the apps back on it that I have now. I just upgraded my Galaxy S5 to the S7 and was told if I set it up as a "new" install I could go to the app store and choose what I wanted to reinstall. That's what I did. With my 10GB monthly limit on satellite internet, I'd use a lot of precious data allowance on apps I didn't want if everything downloaded automatically.

I either need more hours in the day or learn to manage my time more wisely! I WILL do the FR, just don't know when.

I'm doing pretty good. Hope you are too! Don't really read the GN/2014 forum anymore. I'm hanging out on the Galaxy S7 forum. AWESOME phone. AWESOMER camera!

Your best option here if you will be using your old Gmail address, it to immediately after you setup the note 10.1 2014, is to go to the app store and change the default download and update application setting to "do not automatically update/download apps". Then you can pick and choose when and what you want to download

Ya I DO use this tablet ALOT. Most of the day infact Thats what old retired people do, sit online all day watching dog videos and reading tech forums. HAHHA. . I alternate between it and a Chromebook, when the Note needs charging.

When I did the FR I did not go to the Play Store options and opt out of auto update. I find that having most of my apps update for me works easier. Then I turn off auto update. On the select apps I prefer older versions, I just use an app sender app to send the versions I like from my phone , still loving my S4, but when our contract is up in December, probably will go for the S7, since they put the extSD card back. I hated the fact that they took that out, in the S5 and S6's

I'll have to start hanging out at the S7 forum to start to read about it. I do hear good things.

Good luck when/if you reset.
