stupid me bought tasker without trying the demo.

i have a couple of questions, and please tell me im stupid if i am. I come from a logic (crestron) programming background, so im familiar with the process.

Here's what im finding:

1. The notification LED color does not change when setup for missed calls/sms/mms from certain contacts. The status bar notification does work though. Is the notification LED not changeable in the X?

2. The GPS does not turn on and off when launching a gps enabled program such as navagation, maps and such. I followed life hackers guide, which is exactly how i set it up on my own. when x program is launched, turn GPS on. when it is closed, turn gps off. It doesn't work.

3. When plugged into my home dock, set volume to 6 and display it. It does this when i hit test, but when i put it in the home dock it doesnt do it.

Anyone else having issues with the above items? i'm not a ******, but maybe i am. i am also not rooted, do i need to be in order for this stuff to work?

Tasker should work fine, a number of user use it.

There is a number of apps that you can use to change led colors for different alerts but by default this feature isn't present in the ROM... Try Blink or SMS Popup

2. The GPS does not turn on and off when launching a gps enabled program such as navagation, maps and such. I followed life hackers guide, which is exactly how i set it up on my own. when x program is launched, turn GPS on. when it is closed, turn gps off. It doesn't work.

There is 3 options under Settings >> Location and Security and once you activate the gps on it will not turn back off but it will stop transmitting until a app needs a lock, the only issue with that is that not only the Navigation app uses it to retrieve data so it will still run even when Navigation is closed.

But make sure you go through menu to completely close navigation or you can have it still running in the background also and this will cause the navigation to keep running.

??? You are contradicting yourself here, the device cant be doing it and not doing it, unless I am just not understanding... I am going to make a shot in the dark, when you plug the device into the home and car dock the volume usually changes to max because when dock it runs the Alarm clock dock or the Voice / Big button dock.
