[TB]Sense UI or 'other' launcher - Which one and Why?

I came from an OG Droid, so I was actually sick of the stock launcher. I've stuck with sense.

same here. i did vanilla on my OG droid and even though i love to have snappy phone, I really like sense.

I am with you all the way brother, I know it's all a matter of opinion and personal preference but I love ADW EX.

I think you should give ADW free version a try first, Then if you like it buy it n you can do more stuff with it Also go launcher I heard is not that bad either...

I've tried out ADW and Launcher Pro... had to add too many Sense like widgets to get it to look liked Sense... I unloaded those and am back to Sense... I really did not see a benefit of putting a new launcher on my device.

I normally use Launcher Pro plus, but fastboot doesn't work with different launchers. So I'm stuck using sense.

It is my first android phone, so I've stuck with Sense. However I have found myself wondering what other types of launchers I could fiddle with. For now I have entertained myself with setting up new menu screens with different widgets and icons on Sense. I will most likely stick with Sense, until I get that itchy finger and decide to try something new.

If Sense would just give us the OPTION to configure our bottom buttons the way we want them, I would prolly never leave sense.... That is my biggest complaint and the main reason I switch to do different launchers

Some of the ROMs out now have the ability to change the right button to whatever application you want using rosie settings. Currently I'm using Perfert Storm and have the right button set to Gmail Hopefully soon they will have the option to be able customize 2 of them which I believe is the limit while using Sense.

Yeah, i know, but i just am not willing to root my phone right now... I want to wait until the OTA GB in june (fingers crossed) and then root... I hate unrooting also... and to top it off, this phone isn't exactly fast to root... I can do it, I just don't feel like taking 4ish hrs to do it I could prolly do it faster but I have the tendency to reread everything 5 times when it comes to rooting and the guts of my phones. better safe than sorry, ya know

I've used both Launcher Pro Plus and Sense, and decided to keep with Sense. There's no point to run LPP when Sense UI is still running in the background. Once CM7 is available for the TB, I would use LPP again.

I know what you mean it ended up taking me an hour or so after many hours of reading but I cheated by using a 3 click method that pushed the commands for me. There are now a few easier methods and ones stuck in the Roms thread if you want to check it out.

Ha... you know im going to now... im an addict to this stuff...

your opinion... should I wait for the OTA or just Root and call It a day? why?

If it was me I would root now and hope we get the update from the developers before the OTA even comes out. Seems in the past with my og Droid and dinc the developers had baked the updates faster then big red released the update.

I tried out Go Launcher today, and I really liked it. Then I read someone's post here that said Fast Boot only works with Sense, so I had to switch back. :/ Don't really wanna give up Fast Boot just for a different launcher.

Sense for me..It looks better than any of the others out there imo. I'm looking forward to the newer versions.

I'm pretty sure the launcher is irrelevant... Sense is still running even though your not using its launcher.

fast boot works with adw ex.
fast boot just does not apply to restarts, only powering down and back on again.

I really like how slick Go Launcher EX is . For right now its what I use.
