Does anyone know if tec tiles are available for the note 3. If they are has anyone used them and are they useful?

I bought nfc tags from amazon and use an app called trigger. Just go to settings and enable nfc.

Can you share what you guys use the tags for?

You can Prgram options in your phonefor each tec tile. Like set one tile so if you Tap it it will turn blutooth on and shut wifi off and then open a play list. Handy if you stick the tile in your car.

I use tasker for automation, but trigger for everything nfc, it is great for nfc, simple to use and can program, reprogram and erase the tags. I bought a 10 pack of nfc tags from Amazon, cheaper than the tech tiles, and they with great

I should have clarified that I use the Mifare tags, I think that I have the Ultralight ones. I got these when I got the Nexus 4.

What do NFC tags do that Tasker can't? Also, does the phone need to be unlocked to detect the NFC tag?

I bought a pack of Tec Tiles from Samsung and use them for my Note 3. I currently have one stuck in my car. It toggles car mode/home mode. Car Mode turns on BT, turns off Wi-Fi, sets speaker volume to max (without this I need to turn up volume everytime I plug in my aux plug), opens up Audible and Waze; Home Mode Turns off BT, Turns on Wi-FI.

Unless the phone is rooted it does have to be unlocked for nfc. I use one nfc beside my bed so when it is time for bed, I tap the tag and it sets things like volune alarm etc.

I suppose tasker may work but usnt tasker more time based. Like certain times do this or that? Or even location based? I go to bed at different times so if I am just passing through my bedroom I do not want certain things done until I am going to bed.

I also have an nfc tag on my keychain for when I drive.

Now I use trigger with a location for when I get home to turn on wifi etc. I could use nfc for that but by using location, I dont have to tap an nfc tag.
