Tell us your buying experience!

Got to my store 15 min before opening, there was a heard of people in cars around the store, about 10 people.

Manager comes out

Manager: Hey are you guys here for the Nexus?
Me: No we are here for the White Razr /sarcastic
Manager: Oh really, and laughs
Manager: (started assigning people to reps)
They have plenty of reps in the store

Anyhow the guy I got was cool, talked a bit about the phone, I had an issue with the 4g sim card so the manager was over, and he was like why isnt there a Removable SD card and I explained to him.. he said

To be honest I had no idea this phone was coming out, we been kinda trained on the phone over the past few weeks and they have been sitting in the Safe since the end of November, I looked at my Emails this morning and it said they are going to sell the phone which was surprising since it was so last minute.

Guy who was helping me was like yea I had no idea until I came in this morning.

Got it all activated and installed the update and I was out.

I wonder what the execs are saying about the white razr?

"But sir we thought it would be a hit...you think moto will accept us returning 50,000 of them?"

I went in, paid my cash and walked out. No spams of ecstasy then and there.

I got mine at best buy and the rep was all over it. The first thing he tells me is to be careful because they didn't have any cases or screen protectors. Then he proceeds to take off the protective shield that it ships with, I was like noooo, but it was too late. Why would you take that off if you don't have any screen protector?

I had to ride to the verizon store with the phone in the box to keep anything from happening to it.

Walked in at 0800 when they opened. Manager said he couldn't sell me one until he gets the official clock time of release. He's saving me one though, as they only have five on hand. :'(

Got to the store about 7:50. I was #10 in line. Doors opened at 8. They had 2 people taking care of everyone, so it took a while. Another 10 or so people showed up after me, and when I got up to the counter, they announced that the Nexus they gave me was their last one, so they were sold out. Glad I got there when I did!

As for buying, I don't care if they set it up or anything, so I let them get it all set to go, and I walked out with a working Nexus. OTA happened within 5 minutes, and now it's running smoothly. To quote Ice Cube, today is a good day...

Got to store at 8:15 (open at 9). One car parking outside with a person in (freezing outside), so I stayed in the car too. In the next half an hour, about 4, 5 cars showed up as well, all parked close, and all drivers stayed inside. Then this old lady came along, decided to park her car and walk right in front of the store and decided to take the first in line spot. Suddenly, everyone is getting off their cars (really look like a gang fight is about to happen, lol), and semi-rushed into the line, and a few people started arguing about the line order.

After realizing there are probably way more phones than people (7, 8 people), people started chatting. Got a little awkward when the store opened, and people wanted to go in first but felt bad about doing it. Although I was there 2nd, but went in 7th (too shy), so needed to wait a bit (4 reps available).

My rep is incredibly incompetent. Took quite a while to figure out how livingsocial coupon work and how my corporate discount work, but after all, I got to leave with a Nexus and not too late for work

corp store opened at 10am, walked in grabbed the phone & incipio case, made sure they grandfathered my unlimited data, told the sales rep I'd activate it myself, paid, walked out. Took all of 10 minutes.

Only 3 of us first thing, setup was nice they only did the sim and battery for me then handed it over, very friendly and no hassling.

Wouldn't let me do an early upgrade(2 weeks away) said they normally could, that was my only really oddity.

Still the only person in line. Two managers just opened the store and she said shed get me taken care of as soon as a rep gets there so I don't miss work.

walked in at 10 am (mine opens then) gave a few hi fives cause i know most of the people that work there and now im home watching it UPDATE lol

I showed up at 8:30 just in case as I was worried about a line. However I was the first one there, so I didn't want to stand right by the door, so I went to grab some coffee and find a bench. I came a few minutes later, another guy sat down to ask me if I was waiting for Verizon to open. During this time 2 guys took spots at the door, so we headed over. I ended up 4th in a line of about 30+ people and walked out at 9:20 and immediately received the update.
I am very impressed with the phone so far, the 4G speeds are significantly higher than my Samsung "Mifi," 30+ Mbps vs 8-9Mbps.

No line at Verizon at Short Hills, NJ Mall when I got there at 9:05. Two had already been sold. The rep was gorgeous and I would have let her put her hand on everything I own. Hope the phone breaks down so I can go back and chat her up some more. :D

Anyway I bought the bundle with the screen saver (which she applied), case, and car charger. Did not buy the extended battery though I came very close to doing so.

She couldn't do my contacts or set me up on Gmail because she could not get 4G in the mall. Couldn't believe but there was no wi-fi in the store!

On my way home stopped at Whole Foods and notice that I got an update.

Got home, went on wifi and finished the process. Totally smooth, but can't figure out how to do speed dial!

Played with the phone for a bit while I waited, bought it from the rep and went home.

Funniest part was that he referred to ICS as Ice Cream System. Lol... "The phone has the new ice cream system on it so it will look a little different." Made me chuckle...:D

I woke up at 7am and went to the same best buy that sold me mine on Sunday. Walked in at 9 (I was first of 3 waiting for it) and got myself activated! Happy to be back.

Walked into the Corp. Verizon at 9:06AM and was out at 9:18AM paying $290.00 for my Nexus, extended battery, and a temp case until otterbox or siedio comes out with a nice one. My account was noted I had a $100 off coming from a 3g phone to a 4g phone. GREAT DAY for me......

OK I will just put my foot down and sternly demand for my own activation. Hope I don't cave.
Rep -> "I'm sorry sir we can't let you activate it on your own"
Me -> %$#@ you! lol

if they give you any crap, just tell them youre going to work after you pick it up, and that you still need your current phone to be active. thats what i was gonna tell them if they hassled me at all

Hi, Anyone had any issues with Best Buy Mobile. The one by my work said "their system was not letting them sell it yet" & to try back in an hour, I'm in NYC so it's already into the afternoon.

Looking at the thread, some people see to have bought from Best Buy today (or are the Best Buy Mobile stores different?) Anyone else had any issues?
