I went through two different brands of tempered glass screen protectors that used the same technique as Whitestone (wasn't trying to pay $50 for just one screen protector), here's my experience.
The first being the Donwell tempered glass screen protector two pack which while it applied the same with the liquid resin but sans to phone cradle to assist with the installation and used a smaller battery powered UV light which seemed kind of weak plus the resin seemed a little watery taking a while to dry), the instructions were pretty much non existent so I just went by Whitestones instructions and successfully implemented a bubble free installation and the glass was great quality BUT the fingerprint sensor did not work with the tempered glass which was a major no go for me. It probably would be great for anyone not wanting to use the fingerprint sensor and has the patience/time to figure out how to implement it, plus it's nice and reasonably priced at $21 for two!

The second one I tried and am still using provided the all around result I wanted is by Rockfiim, the same feel as the stock glass and no issues with the fingerprint reader. The quality of tempered glass is great and the the UV light is pretty much the same as the one that comes with the Whitestone and the adhesive resin doesn't seem as watery as the Donwell and wasn't leaking all out of the sides, the instructions are detailed with a multipage pamphlet as well as their being a couple of videos showing how to install it on YouTube. Beyond not having the phone cradle for installation the end result is the same as the Whitestone single pack but cheaper at $37 (plus they give you an Amazon coupon making it $34) for two tempered glass screen protectors. It's been a couple of days since I put it on but no issues so far and no edges coming up with my case on it.
