My previous phone (Galaxy Note 3) was saved by a tempered glass screen protector and so was my wife's Iphone 5C or at least my perception is that the screen protector saved the day.
When the phones were dropped, the screen protectors shattered. Peel this off and the actual screen was fine. I'll never know what might have happened without the tempered glass.
When it comes to my new S6 edge plus, I wanted to go commando, but too scared so I have a slim clear rubber moulded case which covers the back and reaches just around the perimeter edges of the phone body. Looks and feels good to me and very minimalistic however, when I tried to fit a tempered glass, upon re-fitting the rubber clear case, the edges of the case finished exactly where the tempered glass finished and kept forcing up the edges of the screen protector because of the curve.
Maybe it was the quality of the screen protector (bought from the same high street shop as the phone, not ebay) but I would be nervous to spend money on others when I suspect the same would happen with all when combined with a flexible rubber case.
