Temporarily disable screen lock including finger print

I have a pattern and finger print lock screen set up on my ZTE Axon 7 running Android 7.1.1. I need to temporarily disable this security while I'm on my bicycle so I can quickly view the screen for my cycling app. I just went into settings and selected none for the screen lock. However, when I turned it back on I had to re-register my finger prints. Is there a way to do this so I don't have to re-register my finger prints all the time? I did looked into some apps that can do this, but only if I have a pin or pattern set up, they can't do it if I have a finger print set up.
