Google's Android Terminal Emulator: Is an application allows you to pull up the Linux command line on your Android phone.

If you don't understand that I would suggest not playing with it...

Android is a linux-based platform. Linux is an operating system, just like windows. And terminal is like command prompt in windows. You can write commands in the terminal and they will do stuff. Terminal emulator brings this "Command Prompt" to your phone.

However, if you are not familiar with linux, it's better if you stay out because it can be powerful, specially if your phone is rooted.
