I hope you guys can help. Over doze, I got crazy good life. Well, it looks like when it wakes up and does something with the Android system, it's dead. This is a clean install, not an upgrade. Here are some pics:

Mine doesn't seem to be having a problem. I think I got Android 6 three days ago and at first my battery life was terrible but that was because I was sitting with the screen on playing with the new OS. Since I went back to normal usage my battery life seems to be pretty much what it was before. I got up three hours ago. I got some emails, listened to music as I walked my dog. Received and responded to a few messages. I'm at 92% and I have one day and 11 hours left at the rate I'm going. I don't talk on the phone because I'm deaf and I have no games on my phone so my use may not be normal but my battery is no worse than it was with Android 5.1 and Android 4.4.

This phone was sitting on a desk. This is 10 minutes of screen on time. I heard it alarm that it was low, which was odd, as it was just at 92% when I woke up 4 hours before to let my dog out.

It looks like Android OS woke it up, did something, and now it's dead.

I hesitated to write earlier because of erattic hisory of battery life.
But after V6, my battery life has doubled. (knock on wood).
It seemed to take a long time to charge following the OTA upgrade.
Airplane mode at home & wifi off at night.
Nexus 5 stock.

Your Android OS at 25% is a red flag for sure.

I agree with you - my Nexus' battery life also has been superb today. I had sideloaded the OTA file and did a factory reset to clean up any left-over junk processes two nights ago. Today's battery life was simply awesome. Looks like Doze is doing its job.

Same issue as OP. Doze seems broken on my Nexus 5. Battery life is even worse than Lollipop (how is that possible?).

I lost 10% off charge last night. Although I have AC Display, and since I charge at night in another room I never have it 'sleep'. It was at the top of the battery chart.

Slave - have you restarted your phone? It's probably Android OS the culprit.
Just restart the phone.
I noticed big improvement in standby time with 6.0.

I got the OTA yesterday in the middle of the day. So, I wasn't able to clean the partition cache nor was I able to charge my Nexus 5 back to 100%.

Initially, my battery life might have been draining faster than usual, but today the stand-by-time is ridiculously good.

I've had 23 hours use, 2.5 hours screen on time and 23% left. Took some forum reading and fiddling, but it DOES work.

I got Android 6 on the 8th. The first day or so the battery drained quickly but then it settled down. Three days ago something went wonky, I think it was my wirecharger, and my cell was seriously screwed up. I did a factory restore and then restored data. For a day the Exchange Services ate battery power like an Italian eats spaghetti. Today, it's back to normal. Last night my cell lost 1% while I slept. I've been using the phone since 6:30 this morning--my usage isn't heavy--and now at 1:30 I'm at 83%.

I gave my mom an old Nexus 5 I had lying around, completely wiped and fresh installed with Marshmallow. From what I've seen, she has it on all day with mild usage here and there (calling people, using WhatsApp), and it's still at 76% later that night. This is with high brightness settings and unplugged from the charger at about 6:00 AM or so. Seems to be working fine.

I updated yesterday. Standby battery is very good but SOT seems to be suffering. I'll give it a couple more days to see if it improves.

Definitely better after update. I've had it a couple of weeks. Best if WiFi off. If I am using it, it doesn't seem to make that much difference but when it is idle it definitely uses less power and I don't have to charge every night like I used to. Easily can get a day and a half now. Stock 16g. I still love it!

what is your sot now after the update?

I use my Nexus 5 for texting friends and associates, using apps for Kindle, weather, currency exchange rates, and so forth. I'm don't use the phone because I'm too deaf. I have no games on my cell phone so I'm not playing games.

This morning I unplugged the charger at 5 a.m. It's now 5 p.m. and I'm down 14%. Yesterday by this time I was down about 25%. Android 6 is certainly no worse than Android 5 and might be a bit better. I don't really remember Android 4.4.

My nexus 5 seemed good at the start after updating. But now I charge twice a day. If I go to bed with 100% in the evening, there are about 44% in the morning.
