Testing the old saying, "If it sounds too good to be true..."

Yea, this totally screams fraud.

Hope everything goes well. Best of luck.

Yup could be stolen with bad ESNs thats why its unlocked because it wont be able to be activated with Verizon. The first big red flag is he is hiding the buyers names. Its all bad. I filed an investigation report to ebay. Watch the listing will be pulled in a day or so.

I paid for the item via PayPal (used my credit card instead of my checking account to fund) so I'm covered two ways there plus I'm eligible for eBay buyer protection. Don't get me wrong; I'm incredibly skeptical. However I'm fairly well protected if this deal goes sideways so I'm willing to take the chance.

Here's the link. Thunderbolt Verizon Cell Phone LTE 4G Android(Unlocked) - eBay (item 290556601368 end time Apr-22-11 22:27:27 PDT)

I will keep this thread updated as things develop.

I reported this listing to ebay. You will get an email from them when they yank it off the site.

Time will tell, alot of money to throw out to test to see if its a rip off. Both stories seem fishy to me. LOL

Its Fraud, EBay has already pulled the listing after I filed an investigation report. At least no one else will get ripped off now.

I think it's fraud, but it sounds like you are more than willing to take a chance. you are playing for bragging rights so good luck to you lol.

I buy stuff from eBay all the time without problems, but never from someone with no feedback. Good luck, hope it works out for you.

I guess you will have your poll results, when you get or don't get your device. This poll seems a bit useless IMO.

Fun thread to follow! Thanks for reporting the listing so that no one else gets slammed. Scum sellers. OP, I hope you get your refund.

I wouldn't doubt it too quick. I made a seller account just for the purpose of selling my OG Droid for Thunderbolt money. Ya never know if they just made the account to get rid of the phone.

While this is true, everyone had to start someone, no one is going to sell a clean, working, legal Thunderbolt for $200. If it was for $700 I wouldn't be suspicious.

if it was even 500 I would think it was legit. 200 is under the 2 year contract price. and the seller has multipliable units as "new"...maybe the fell off the back of a truck... in Australia? lol

Maybe one of the boxes was shipped to Australia from Taiwan by mistake and landed at this dude's address, LOL!!

Not calling op a moran!

Sorry man, but if you have any doubts its best to walk away. Why would anyone sell something at a loss. If it sounds to good it is.

Well thank goodness for morons i guess.. Or nobody would be doing ANYTHING on ebay (although maybe thats not an all together bad thing) But the fact remains that if nobody took that chance with the very first ebay purchase years ago, there would be none today..
So i guess your moron comment is a bit dramatic..

ebay is not all that bad, I bought a light bulb and received it 7 days later......
