Tethering Issues

I can get a tethered connection to another device, but only occasionally will it pass through the internet connection from the phone (which of course is my only reason to tether). Anyone have this issue or know why the internet won't flow through? 3a XL, T-Mobile. Thanks.

Check with T-Mobile if something is up with the mobile hotspot on your cell phone plan

Sorry, are you saying that you're able to connect to another device's hotspot, but that when you turn on your 3a XL's hotspot, other devices aren't able to connect to your phone's hotspot?

No. The pixel hotspot is on. I tether my laptop to the pixel hotspot. The laptop says that it is connected to the pixel but that there is no internet.

I'll call TMO and ask.

Keep in mind that on most of their plans, there's a monthly limit to how much you can tether. If you exceed that limit (I think it's 5 GB), it might stop working, or perhaps throttle to excruciatingly slow speed.

It started working again. No explanation. And I was way under the data cap so that wasn't it.
