I have an incredible and I just recently bought a new HP laptop. But I have no WiFi around how do I tether my HTC incredible? Thank you is their a step by step program?

Just use a USB cable, plug it into the laptop, and select Share Internet Connection. That's how I do it over here, anyway; I've heard a lot about US carriers not liking that people tether freely. If your carrier can detect tethering and would charge you extra, I've heard that PDAnet helps you get around that for free. I've not tried it, as tethering is actually a carrier-supported and even a carrier-suggested method around here, but it seems to do the job. :)

PDAnet is the best choice unless you root your phone. If you do root, then the Android WiFi Tether project has a great app.

I installed PDANet today on my Evo for use on my netbook - installation was quick and performance was ok.

It'd be great to have a wifi hotspot app that I don't have to pay a monthly fee for. That way I could surf on the phone and my wife can surf on the computer. I like the internet, i'm just not interested in paying for it right now.
