Text Entry Problem

My wifes Droid 2 will only enter 2 words in any text field either by virtual or physical keyboard...really strange...any ideas?

silverfang77, you are a life saver.....I was struggling with this for hours and hours.......so frustrating... Anyone understand how this problems occurs? Is it a random bug, or something that can be avoided?

As far as I can tell, it's a Gingerbread bug.

I actually got use to it for a while... on the plus it's minimized my text messaging. I noticed the bug was happening a lot of times after pressing the space key between words... but not all the time. Thanks for the advice though!

I created a debug log for it out of curiosity before clearing my keyboard data... this is what came out of it:
