Ok ill make it quick....i put an *67 in front of some of my friends phone numbers in the contacts edit screen area to play a joke on them. after calling them and texting them i took the *67 out BUT now when they text me it come up with the *67 in front of their number still.

So thinking easy fix i went and deleted there contact rebooted the phone and plugged them back in and STILL *67 in front of there name. I went and clear the cache for messaging thinking that might fix it but nothing.

Any help on getting rid of that the darn *67 would be nice?!

maybe change it from your google email account then resync

nope that didnt work....its funny though when i start the textit has there name but when i send it it puts it back the *67 strange

There is one more thing you could try.. Your phone numbers should be save in your Google account without the *67 before it. You would have to delete all numbers, then use import/export and sync them back to the phone.

People - menu - import/export.

what if i clear data on contacts or the contact storage?

Try it.

But you are saying when you look at your Google contacts, from GMail on your PC (or Mac), you don't see the *67?

Also, did you accidently add the contact to your local contact and not Google? So that contact will still be local, even though you deleted it from your Google contacts.

Or may you have that account linked with a local account.

i have deleted all contacts in my gmail account and deleted the text messages several times and still nothing kinda getting on my nervous now
