Text message notification - Galaxy S4

Hi everyone
Very new here so apologise if I make any stupid mistakes.

I have a new S4 and am still fairly new to android and I would like to know if it is possible to have a text message notification appear which only says who the message has come from and not a preview of the message. I seem to be able to get either the preview or just a notification I have a message. Is this possible?

Hi and welcome to AC I think you need to go into the message settings. There should be a section in there to change the message preview. Don't go into the Settings app within your phone, go into the messaging app then have a look for the "settings" option.

My SMS Settings menu has a choice for Preview message On/Off (Show a preview of received messages on the status bar and lock screen). There is no option to show only Sender or Message, just all preview on or off.

Ah right, I think Trucky has answered my questions as I just wanted the senders name displayed and not the actual message. Its just a case of getting use to Android I think.
