Text Message Notification not popping up all the time?

Has anybody else been experiencing this? I'll get a text message and sometimes the notification in the notification bar has not been appearing. But when I go to my text messages i'll see new messages that I have not read yet. It's starting to get very annoying.

I've noticed that too. Also, my notification light won't be blinking, but when I unlock and the screen powers on, the text notification icon is in the notification bar. Both are mildly annoying but I'd love a fix...

Yes! This happened to me a couple days ago. To fix I had to uninstall GoSMS. Now all is ok

I use Handcent and have it set to be the default texting app with no problems like that. I have the stock app set to not check for new texts and such.

I was using GoSMS the same way and it worked for the last 8 months I had it. Had stock turned off, GoSMS on and all was well. Then suddenly it stopped.
