Text messages sending twice

So ever since I got my V30, people have mentioned they would get a text twice from me. I thought it was sporadic, but turns out it is every text I send to anyone, they just don't always say something!

I use the Google messenger app and Nova Prime. From the research I've done this is usually a problem with the stock message app re-sending the same message as the 3rd party app, and is not isolated to the V30 or LG.

I've done all the suggestions of disabling permissions and data for the LG app (since they don't let you uninstall it) and tried a different 3rd party app (Textra) without any luck.

So I finally give up yesterday and resign myself to having to use the LG app even though I hate it so I stop annoying everyone I text, and it is doing the same thing!

I'm at the end of my rope on ideas short of totally wiping the phone as a last resort. Any experience with this or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 😊

I didn't have that issue but did have an odd texting issue and it seems to be isolated to the Google Android messaging app. I wouldn't receive texts from certain people but would receive them in the LG app even though they wasn't default. I thought the issue was fixed but then I couldn't receive pictures from one person in that app. I hate the stock app and refuse to use it. Have you tried Textra? I haven't had any issues yet and get it was worth paying a few bucks to remove ads.

Yeah I tried Textra and had the same issue. I hate the stock app too, but even it is sending duplicates so even that didn't fix the issue.

Whose your carrier? Have you contacted them? This is way above my level of tech savvy-ness.

With my issue, I tried deleting all my texts, uninstalling the Android messaging app, Deleted cache and data from the LG messaging app. Then reinstalled Android messaging. It seemed like it was working until I realized I wasn't getting my Dad's pictures and texts from a couple other people only in that app. I know your issue is different and it's happening in all apps but I just thought I'd share what I did to try and resolve it.

T-Mobile. No haven't contacted them yet.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing you did and try to wipe everything clean and go from there first. Kind of like doing a reboot before calling the help desk as you know that's the first thing they will ask!

I'm also on Tmobile. My phone started doing this yesterday. I had recently turn on data saver. I turned data saver off and it hasn't happened since.
