text messages

Hiya I recently upgraded to the A5 from the iPhone 4s the issue that I'm having, is that once messages go over 3 pages it converts from a sms to an mms. Which of course cost money which is not what I want, is there any way that I can change this. As I've looked through every possible setting and can't figure it out, or is there a messaging app that dose not have txt restrictions cheers gareth
