Text Msg Question

how to view ONLY the senders name and hide the message when receiving text msgs?

Go into messages, settings, and uncheck message preview.

then the outcome would be " one new message" rather than just the senders name..

I don't think you can choose just to show the name. I think it is just a generic new message icon or the preview.

There is an app I've heard about, called floatify and it is a notification app. That might do what you are looking for, not sure.
