Text Notification in Car Dock Mode

When my phone is docked in car mode and I get a text. It will say "Text message from .... Please say listen to hear the text message". I say listen and nothing happens I just have to hit cancel because I can't read the text either. My other voice apps work fine, does anyone have a solution to make the phone hear when I say "listen"? Thanks!
