Text Notifications

Every time I have my Note 3 locked and I receive a notification I get the sound and vibration from the notification. But when I'm on my phone and using it and I get a text notification I only have the vibration. How do I fix this?

I think its something to do with the text notification settings. There's a possibility the text notification has been set to only vibrate and not to make a sound.

No I figured it out today. An Application was causing all notifications to only vibrate when the phone was unlocked and when the phone was locked it would make the sounds.
