I cant believe I did not notice this before, but is anybody else having issues sending texts that are longer than 160? I could have sworn in the past that it automatically broke the text into separate texts and sent them, but I get an error everytime I try it with my Maxx. I didnt notice this sooner because I usually use gtalk or ymessenger to talk, but this is not good. Any workarounds for the stock messaging system? I would use Handcent, but I always had some sort of issues with it so i deleted it.

Wow. This is no good indeed. So it doesnt' break up the messages itself? You have to send them in sections?

Yes, you have to break them up into sections. It really sucks to have to keep hitting send all the time

I have been using Handcent for many years and many phones. Have no issues over all the time. You should take time to go through the options menus and set it up and you will love it.

I just sent the following 214 character text to myself and it went fine. I then emailed it to my work and it automatically made it an MMS and sent just fine:

This is a test of the emergency broadcast system. This is only a test. The quick brown fox jumped the pail white fence and ran like hell because he didn't want to become dinner for the farmers nasty ole hound dog.

Did you use the stock or another txt program?

I'm using the stock email application. Promise. I can't think of a reason yours is doing it. Do you have account limits for your text or data plans? Both my texting and data plans are unlimited.
