Has anyone else experienced texting lag lately? Ive had this phone for less than a week. Ive tried the stock and multiple other keyboards and its doing the same thing. It may just be FB...(does it mostly there) but seeing it in texting too?
Just curious if anyone else is seeing it too? Also.....what is your fav texting/keyboard app?

Do you have a lot of messages? I have noticed most stock apps (Samsung, LG, HTC, etc.) do not like a lot of messages within their stock app.

I use a third party (ChompSMS - made by the Textra devs) and it handles everything I throw at it.

If you have this option enabled, try turning off any haptic feedback such as vibrations and sound while typing. I use Swiftkey and I have no haptic feedback on, and I don't have the lag. A previous forum member took this suggestion and claimed his/her lag disappeared for the most part as well.

Hopefully this helps you. Haptic feedback being off might help LG's stock keyboard too.

I tried using the stock messenger app when restoring my sms and mms carried over from my old device. Stock kept crashing due to the flood of messages and notifications. This is the first time I've used Textra, but it works very smoothly.

I'm also experiencing this lag. Along with the random "Unfortunately Hangouts has stopped" which is equally annoying because I've disabled it..

Restored about 20k messages on my G4 from my G3. Switched to google messenger immediately after restore before making Hanouts my default. No issues that I can tell so far.

Re-enable hangouts... sorry, I had the same thing happening and it seems to be the only solution; a sucky solution, but likely the only solution.

Yes, this should be the first thing anyone who has performance issues should be doing... surely a whole swack load of little vibrations will lower battery and general process performance.

It would be great if Hangouts offered a custom dark setting (my preference). Otherwise, I guess I'll defer to Textra.

Textra plus the Google keyboard. This combo is lag free and great. I do miss swyp gestures for punctuation but this will do.

I'm experiencing the same thing, especially when texting. I've switched fron Google Keyboard to stock and still get lag. My favorite is Google Keyboard and this is really frustrating. My G2 doesn't do this and neither did my note 3.

20k messages? Holy hell. What do you need to keep that many messages for? Lol

I have a lot as well. I just never remove them haha :D. I do not restore from backups or anything though I just use the phone and what is there is what stays.

Lol I send maybe 10-20 (total) a day, if that. So it's easy to delete two or three threads lol.
