textra wifi texting Verizon

Hey I have my LG v20 on Verizon, and where I live I used to have to go up to the second floor to get a signal to call or text on PagePlus. So once I switched I got the LG V20 (Which I love btw) and Verizon has the wifi calling/texting. But, I absolutely despise their Verizon messages app and was wondering if the Textra app is able to use the Wifi Texting feature just like Verizon Messages.

It looks really bad in my opinion. It looks like I'm still on Android 4 lol.

Verizon messages app is a train wreck. It's slow, bloated, crap. I painfully use it occasionally as well because I get poor signal at my house and texts hang a lot before sending. Also it sends mms over WiFi which is nice. I really wish someone could mod it to remove the garbage and speed it up, add things like the quick share virtually every other Android app nowadays has.

I wouldnt count on any other wifi texting apps at least for now. Verizon hasn't made any progress towards anything else and they want people to use their services.
