TF-201 discontinued?

Asus.com still has it promoted on their website i think they would be trying to damage control everything and they would havent announced a uk launch

Yeah, after doing some digging around on various forums (especially XDA Developers) it's clear that Asus is officially saying that they are NOT discontinuing the Transformer Prime. But there does seem to be something fish going on in the supply chain, since several stores are saying that they won't be getting any more, are showing them as discontinued, etc. It sounds like there have been a handful of issues with the Prime other than radio signal strength, and there's some speculation that the delay is to fix some of these issues or to change the packaging with regards to GPS functionality (?). Others are speculating that this may come with a new SKU or product number for the same model (TF201), which is what is causing the confusion about the device being discontinued.

Guess we stay tuned.

Considering a bunch of stores just got more in, I don't think it has been discontinued.

I bought the BB buy back option. The sells clerk told me to run my TP over with a car and get them to send me a brand new one, then sell it back to them... Has anyone else been told this?

That has to be the most crooked thing I have heard in a long time and why warranty prices are going up. If you have a true issue that is reproducable then you send it to asus for repair/exchange.

You'd need their warranty as well, most likely, and it's still shady as hell and unlikely to go through.

But seriously, if you're going to go the route of buying their extended warranty AND the BuyBack option, you might as well buy a second tablet as a backup instead.

I dont think it shady... Until company's make sure there a 1% chance of getting a lemon than manipulate the system.. I am sorry mr self righteous I dont agree with you...I always break my technology items on purpose because of the accidental damage warranty I wait 2 weeks before my warrenty is up and break it and take it back for full credit and buy what i want

Thats my point. If its not a lemon than you are completely in the wrong by purposefully breaking a good product to get your money back. Do you whatever makes you happy if its messed up is my point but just breaking perfectly good stuff to profit is wrong and dont really care if you disagree because its suppossed to be "accidental" not on purpose so if following a moral code makes me self righteous than thats fine with me.

So this news is kind of disheatening!!!.. I am a NEW Android user and a NEW Transformer Prime owner. I jumped in at this level b/c i wanted an IPAD equivalent Touchpad. I intentionally avoided low end products because i wanted to learn on something worth using and keeping for a few years. This makes me sick thinking they are discontinuing my model. I even went as far as getting the all elusive Champagne Prime+ Dock..

I love it more and more each day but the fear of it losing traction in things like the App market make me feel like i set 750.00 dollars on fire..

They're not discontinuing the TF201. Even if they did it wouldn't mean that the product was EOL'd. They've only just released the product in Europe, and they're still working through the end of their supply difficulties (i.e., not being able to produce enough to meet demand). The TF700 line won't be available until summer, so the TF201 will still be ASUS's top of the line tablet for another 5-6 months.

I am just saying until technology companies step up there policy and dont make it a hassle o replace a warrenty use and take advantage of the system
