New Evo owner (came from the land of the Pre) as of yesterday. With WebOs I had Preware, Uberkernal, Govnah, etc going. With the Evo I was a little hesitant about rooting, since there seemed more of a chance to brick the device.
Anyway, I spent last night and part of today reading through dozens of threads here and elsewhere and bit the bullet and rooted the phone (following the sticky in this forum and the video) and flashed AC-ROM 2.5. When all was said and done, it really wasn't too difficult, but it would have been nearly impossible without the info on this site.
So thanks, and I'm sure as I get to know my Evo more I'll have more questions and I know that somewhere out there will be someone who knows the answer and is willing to help.
